Inspired By Our Own Ridgebacks 

Some of you may remember The Fiona Gallery — a collection of my Rhodesian Ridgeback gifts and artwork, created over the years.

At the center of it all was my muse: a wild, liver-nosed girl, Oakhurst’s Shiraz Toast of the Town. We called her Lapsi.

She was a whirlwind — equal parts mischief, beauty, and soul. We were deeply connected in a way that words never quite capture, and I still feel her absence every day.

She was always beside me in the studio, often catching my eye — staring back with those expressive, knowing looks. It’s those moments I carry into these pieces now: the head tilts, the curiosity, the quiet companionship, the spark of personality that made her her.

This collection is a continuation of that connection, a way of honoring not just Lapsi, but the deep, irreplaceable bond we share with the animals who shape our lives.
