Some of you may remember The Fiona Gallery, a collection of my Rhodesian Ridgeback gifts, mugs and art created over the years. At the center of it all was my muse. My muse was a wild liver-nose girl. Oakhurst's Shiraz Toast Of The Town, we called her Lapsi. She was a whirlwind of excitement and hilarity. It is her image I drew that became the iconic The Fiona Gallery logo. We were deeply connected to each other and I miss her everyday. I am always inspired by her. I love seeing her image on the pieces I create. She was always with me in my studio and I would often look at her to see her staring right at me. It is the silly expressions and head tilts that I like to paint. This collection is a continuation of that connection, a way of honoring not only Lapsi, but the deep irreplaceable bond we share with the animals who shape our lives.
Lapsi, Lobster, Lopsidaisical,
You're my north, my south, my east, my west,
Well you are the girl that I love best.
